Miss Rose will work with all parents to obtain all the documentation from the school, parents and any outside doctors, therapist's, or anyone that has worked with the child or teen and go over the paper work with the parents so they, along with Miss Rose, can develop an "Excellent" IEP and Behavioral Plan for their child or teen. Miss Rose leaves no stone unturned to make sure the disability of the child or teen is fully implementated in all accommodations, modification, benchmarks and goals.
Miss Rose will teach the parents, during this process, as well as the IEP team how to "Monitor" the IEP and hold everyone "Accountable" for any failure of not implementing the IEP to it's fullest extent.
Miss Rose also holds the Child or Teen, accountable as well - teaching the child or teen the strategies of learning in school and behaving appropriately.
Miss Rose has the child or teen call her each day a lunch hour to find out how they are doing. If there is a problem she works with the student over the phone on the right or wrongs of their conduct or not doing what the teacher asks them to do during class.
She teaches the student how to advocate for themselves in an appropriate manner so they can get results themselves. They need to know they have the "Power" to do so....if addressd appropriately with the school staff.
Miss Rose believes that "Laughter is the Best Medicine" when working with a child or teen.
Even though the IEP and Behavioral Modification Plan is with the parents in the meeting and the student is not present.....Miss Rose and the Parents go over the IEP and Behavioral plan with the Child or teen after the meeting. Miss Rose does not want the parents to sign the IEP and Behavioral Plan until discussed with their child - for they may have other things that they feel are necessary for them to succeed.
Miss Rose will explain, along with the parents and the child or teen, the disability they have so that they know that it is not their fault they are not succeeding in school BUT the IEP and different strategies will help them to succeed. Again the child or teen is "monitored" all along the way in the school year, to be sure "they get it".
